leaf spring bushings

im doing a ruf and i tried to get my old bushings out but they wouldnt budge? do they need to be heated or cut out?

What year rufs, I had 86's and they had those press in bushing. I use a hole saw, and cut that thing out.  I have since bent those leaves and moved on.

I used fire from a torch to melt them out

off a 94 i put a socket on it, it came half way out but it was like it was fused to the metal

well i torched them out and the bushings i had to put in and there to small and bolts for hanger i have are to big for the original bushing did yall melt the whole thing out or just the metal piece

thats what i did now the bushings that came with my spring hanger kit doesnt fit and im doing a ruf

ruf use large bushings in front, small in rear. 3rd gen ruf use a large bushing in the front and rear. If the hole needs enlarged, stick bushing in freezer overnight, and drill it out in the morning

get inovative, drill out or shave down the bushing to fit depending on which way you need to go

that always works too... good idea spark never thought of that always done it with crank berings on my race bikes so they drop right in case i always got pisssed trying to drill the rubber :thumbs: thanks bro
