20r exhaust

my buddys got an 82 and the exhaust is makin the headers red hot is this normal for headers i kno they heat up faster but its concerning him and he wants some more info about it so anything is appreciated

no he doesnt use computers and he never drives the truck we he hasnt drove it in about 2 years i think he kinda gave up on it and he wants and outrageous price

is he running the stock 20R carb??  if so he needs to get a larger carb.  either way he is either running very lean or his cam timing is advanced too much (a tooth off).

sounds like a bent exhaust valve.

post what carb he is running. also did he swap in the 20R ? because 82's came with 22R's
