i have some OLD LCengineering 4 into 1 1 1/2 inch primary into 2 1/4

its not so much the design with these motors as much as size of the primaries and size of the exhaust tube, at least 1 1/2 inch and 2 1/4 inch

the stock 22R exhaust on a 20R is a improvement  and probably the best for a rock crawler,  but if roaring down the freeway is your thing, contact  www.lcengineering.com

I now MidgetMike has a header.  Would you guys say it was worth it to get a header over keeping the stock manifold?  I might want to do it later, but if its not worth it then i won't.

Not to be mean, but this has to be the fifth header thread in the last month.  There is a search button at the top of the page.  That being said, I run two thorley tri-y headers.  They work well, although I haven't tried a four into one yet.  One of those thorleys has been a pain to keep sealed at the head, and is almost pointless to seal up at the collector.  The flanges are kinda thin.  I just bought a NWOR header off ebay, but haven't installed it yet.  The flange is massive at 1/2" thick.  When I replace the thorley on my 89 2wd, I think I am going to try a LC Engineering header.

I replaced the manifold on my 4wd because the collector studs kept breaking or loosening up.  And a header is typically lighter.  And easier to repair

I run the Downey headers on my 90 V6, they seemed to have helped alot, though I have other mods as well, i.e., cold air induction, and ignition upgrade.

A buddy of mine runs the Thorley from Summit on his '92 efi, he seems to like it, he is able to get up to highway speed turning 37" Krawlers on 17" bead lock rims with 5.29 gears.
