oh this thread made my bust up. BD, you are a crackup!i hate my dads 3.0s for all the RIGHT reasons.
I do my best. I figure that others can benefit from my pain
you know you have one when your at full throttle getting on the on ramp to the highway and nothing is happening....
the same can be said for the 22r and re as well......
this thread is for talking the 3.0 only!!
i found out last friday that the 3.slow is worth about $15. Atleast thats what i got from the scrap yard each for my 2 blown 3.0's with rods stickin out the side of the blocks.
i agree, but it was great finishing off the last one, it had a bad rod knock, so i pinned it to 5 grand and waited for the fireworks, ran greayt for about 35 seconds than Bang!!! shredded 2 rods, best sound ive ever heard out of a 3.choke
The Haynes and Chilton books say that you have to remove the fan, belts, and front timing cover to get to the thermostat! (you don't )
3.0s are the most pain in the ass to work on.i wont ever own one, for that reason alone.
when you have the same power as the 4cyl car you are following behind in the slow lane on freeway, and the same mileage as the v8 chevy that just passed you towing a trailer in the fast lane
