best wheel /tire combo on 85 4 runner
« on: Jan 27, 2016, 12:10:38 PM »
I have a mostly stock 85 4runner. Read some on ratios an tire/rim size.. I'm a beginner trail rider an still like to drive it on the road.. its not a DD by any means.. would 35x12.5 or 35x10.5 on 15" rims be good combo with out breaking stuff left and right on trails. I can live with a lil rubbin in full turns...I have 4"pro comp lift now with 30x9.5x15 and they just look to small. Thanks for any help
1985 SR5 with 4" lift

35"s and you will NEED to regear the diffs, or...
You could get away with 33"s on 15" rims and still maintain some on road manners.
Dose the truck have lockers?
Folks say Toy axles start breaking parts @ 37" but I just blew a birf with 33"s and an open front diff.
Is the rig well maintained?
