ANNOYING IGNITION BUZZER HELP!!!!!!!! :help:

how do i disconnect it the correct way? (without cutting the wires) where is the buzzer?  :maddest:

add a leaf, shackles, torsions tightened,
31's on black steelies, lc header, lc cold air
intake, magnaflow cat, lc muffler, lc cam, system
2 12's, 2 7" kragen hids, procomp light bar

The buzzer is a very small black box on the firewall area next to the steering column/gas pedal and under the dash. You can take the cover off and bend the tab away from the noisemaker (I know, technical term, right?). There is a thread somewhere on the internet with some pictures. I just put a piece of duct tape over the pin on the door, solves it right away, no mods, no cutting

just take the door buttons out

i would take the button out but my light still works so im trying to keep it intact. thanks for the help

Its convinient having the light come one when the door is opened.  The switch for mine is sometimes a pita to flick.  Likes to stick

I bent it myself.  The box is dark gray.  It IS there - trust me on this.  You can hardly feel for it, it's in such a crappy place, but it's there.  IIRC, it slides off a little clip sideways.  Open up, bend the buzzer contact, reassemble.

1st, 2nd, 3rd gen or?  Disconnected many years ago on my 80, tried to on my 91 but it's in a box with other things on the passenger side kick panel and I couldn't get inside it in a way to isolate just that part from the rest of the box.

mine was in the driver side kick panel, just a red wire, connected by a connector thing that just slid off. dont know if thats how it is with others..

So I guess just removing the box all together is a bad thing then?  I took mine out of my 88 truck last week when I was working on my radio and haven't missed it a bit. Hahaha

mines above my pedal assembly (86 runner) and i kept mine on im one of those who tends to forget to pull the keys out of the ignition.
Sas'd '86 4Runner, 22RE-T, 4.88s, Dual Stock T-Cases, Locked F/R, 35" MTR's.
