Are all three top shift or is the front one forward shift?  I have dual cases and both are top shift.  when my first box is in high and my second box is in low they hit each other but bot hstay in gear.  So you are saying that they both hit each other on yours but one pops out of gear into neutral?  That doesn't seem right.  But im not an expert.

That's strange.  Each case should shift independantly of each other.  Something is wrong.

I found this in the directions I don't now if it's what is wrong though might be worth a shot.  :dunno:

If your rear-most case is out of a 1985 to 1988 top shifting EFI (W56) tranny then you must shorten the driver's side shift rod. This is the shift rod sticking out of the rear most case when you shift into 4hi that has the flat side on top. You must trim 1/2" off of the shift rod to avoid jamming between the two cases. See marlin's instructions that came with the adapter.

Look on the bright side, at least they are light and can be pulled out by yourself.  No tranny jack needed.

Come on guys,

Sorry I didnt read this sooner. You never cut off the 1/2" on the drivers side shift rail on one of your cases.

Read the instructions again, and check for where it tells you to grind off a 1/2" from the driver side shift rail.

:turtle:

I'm running tripple cases in my '81 shortbed behind a W56 and I love it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember installing my crawler and the area where the shift rails travel into the adapter is blind.  It didn't go all the way through the adapter into the other case.   :crossed:  :smack:  :dunno:
