Offenhuaser Intake Manifolds for 22r
« on: Nov 02, 2010, 02:23:08 PM »
I know this must be asked a lot, but I only found a few threads on the performance on offenhauser intakes. I am new to this forum so I made sure to search. Does the intake actually make a noticeable difference from the stock manifold? What's better the single plane with the big bored hole or the dual plane with stock size holes? (Right now I'm running a 38 weber on a stock manifold with headers and rebuilt 22r). Thanks in advance for any help

I can honestly say, i dont have first hand knowledge of this but i remember being told by the dude that ran Downey that the 20R intake was better than the offy but the offy was better than a stock 22R intake

Any info is helpful. i've also heard the 20r intake is better because of the individual runners to each cylinder. thanks.

got a 84 22r and currently using the offenhauser dual plane with a 32/36 weber. can't really tell if it made a big difference over the stock manifold set up. hahah............seat of the pants dyno says yes but you know how that works.

$90 seems like a really good deal. I paid 200 for mine which is high but not extraordinarily so after researching them a bit

90 bucks is a good deal..............thinking 38 weber will need the single plane. don't really know how that 1 will work as the carb and intake are different from what i'm using.

NAh it was 200 all along i think. it was kind of a weird deal...I didnt really want it tho.he mentioned it and I said id think about it just being nice and then he gave it to me and said just pay me whenever. it would have been cool if i would have gotten teh carb to go with it but i never did because some other guy had it and wouldnt give it up

ya. i kind of thought that a 38 will need the single plane especially because that manifold has a huge hole where the carb sits. thanks for the input though.

you could buy it for the sole reason of tossing those adapter plates in between your weber and stock intake.  As for the dual plane, supposedly knife edging the head end of the runner separator is the hot ticket
