T-case issue
« on: May 16, 2010, 12:32:37 AM »
Dual setup, rear case is a topshift 23 spline with Marlin's 4.7 (newer style). Some times the case is a PITA to get out of 2-high.  Takes two hands and a bunch of force.  Case has less then 75 miles on it.  Did I do something wrong when I rebuilt it or is it normal on a fresh case?  Thanks!

Edit...case has brand new detent springs, I don't think that is the problem because I can easily run through the shift pattern.  It seems like it only locks up after the truck is driven to the trail head.

You should never have to force the lever.  I used to until I realized all I had to do was lightly push on the lever while driving slowly.

its the like when some cars wont go in reverse and you have to let out of the clutch a little to get it to go in    same concept let out the clutch a little and press the stick foward and it will go    its just between shift points

:slap: DONT FORCE THE LEVER EVER :spankbutt:

if you havent already bent the shift fork you will, never force it.

dont drive on a hard surface in 4wd, this will cause things to get in a extreme bind and with enough traction you could blow the case apart

5 pounds of force is all you should ever need, if it needs more change direction till it does
