If they are stiff and have the same resistance ie. no chunky feeling throught the sweep of the dial its just the fact that they havent been turned. ;)  If they are pretty chunky feeling then yea Id pull them apart and check them out.

The warn hubs on my old 84 were a biotch to turn no matter what I did to them.  I just kept a pair of pliers in the glovebox. :gap:

mine completely froze up like that and i needed to use pliers to turn them. one day they wouldnt engage and i had to take off the casing and push them in manually. when i got home i tok them apart, lubed emm and put it back together. now they turn better than ever, very easily. so ya just take em apart and lube it up, pretty easy to do.

Mine are hard to turn too  or I'm just a wussy :stopit:

Just go to your local parts store and go to the counter   and ask for a tube of KY hub jelly.  It's  a bit  :twocents:    but it keeps out the mosture  and your hubs turning freely

I've found that white lithium grease works great to lube the hubs.  If you wheel in water or mud a lot, just use wheel bearing grease; it's a little thicker so the water doesn't get in as easy as with white grease.

just keep a pair of vise grips in the truck   you'll be fine
