Steering question.
« on: Mar 13, 2010, 08:41:41 PM »
Well i am not sure if this should go here or not.  I have a 86 chevy shortbed 1/2ton.  I put new tie rod ends on it today cause they were worn out.  Now it kinda floats all over the road.  The nut on the steering stabilizer is stripped but its tight and has the pin though it.  I am not sure what it could be.  Any ideas?  It has 36" tsl sx tires on it.  It didnt do this before even with the worn out tie rod ends.

sounds like your alignment is off. it may be toed in or toed out. did you mark everything before you took it all apart so you could get it back together in the exact same spot?
