Thanks for the info !   It might take me a couple months to get it all in-place and come up with the cash for that radiator.  But I will post some pics when it's in.

I talked with a fella the other day from a place called Champion Radiator out of Southern Ca.  He sells an all aluminum tig welded rad for stock apps in the $200.00 range with a guarantee for life . He was going to look into making one for this app.  :crossed: I don't mind spending the money for it to be right nothing worse than a breakdown on the trail Cu's you short changed your mod. But, Like most of us I'm on a budget so I gotta take my time and save.

sounds like you got a lot of money invested. do you have to upgrade your full lines, can you use stock toyota fuel lines? and can you use a 3core v6 toyota radiator.

Stock fuel pump and lines work for an unmodified 4.3 CPI/TPI.  If your running a TBI you will need a 15 psi pump inline and disconnect (electricly) the Toyota EFI pump.

I put my computer in the glove.  I am running electric fans in my CPI, but my original clutch fan works also.  I used the downey manual for wiring and the ECU pinout for the computer.  The Downey manual is mainly for the TBI/TPI, and the CPI is a little different.  I bought a VSS from JTR (smog legal).  I also used the 700R4 adapter to my Toyota case.  I also ran the stock S-10 radiator with few problems.

you can also mount the computer behind the removable air duct where the ac evaporator would mount.i dont know if this would work if you have ac. thats where mine is at it was a tight fit though

I was told that the computers would fit where the old one was. You  just have to heat the plastic kick panel and reform it.  I know you didn't have to worry about smog but I was also told that everything needed to be pretty close to original when the inspector checked out the vehicle ?

I was told that the computers would fit where the old one was. You  just have to heat the plastic kick panel and reform it.  I know you didn't have to worry about smog but I was also told that everything needed to be pretty close to original when the inspector checked out the vehicle ?

The smog ref didn't care where my computer was located, he just had pictures of the smog equipment (provided by AllData), he also wanted to read my OBD1, and that was it.  I originally put my ECU in the glove box, cause the DRAC was piggybacked to it.  I modified the DRAC for 36" tires.  I then had an issue with the referee and using a non-EO VSS.  I then got a new VSS, one with an EO number.  The DRAC was not compatable anymore, so I removed the DRAC and just left the ECU in the glove.  If anyone needs a modified DRAC or needs me to modify or makes theirs adjustable for tire size just let me know.

Yes I believe the ECU will fit behind the kickpanel, without the DRAC piggybacked to it.

DRAC :  Accepts a signal from the VSS, and modifies it for the ABS, Electronic Speedo, and ECU.  Most Chevies had these if you had ABS, Electronic Speedo, etc.
