Rust Problem
« on: Feb 19, 2010, 05:44:14 PM »
:headscratch:  OK Folks here are the pics of the rust on my new 4runner...

The frame I can handle myself, but I'm taking options on the body work..I don't need it to be show room pretty, but I have to get the rust out of the panels and seal it up...Theres alot of salt here in the winter, and mud and water in the summer.

I was thinking about doing the Maaco thing and have it done in Aradelphia  before I bring it home to Canada.:dunno:

Ya I've seen them :shake: up there.

But here that can get you pulled off the road.

The frame like I said is some thing I can fix myself.

The body needs to be fixed and sealed.

I wonder how this would work for preventing rust. Use a zinc anode. They are used on boats do to the water/salt water acting like a electrolite and creating corrosion
Dr.Maxwe001 – well i have a 15 gal compressor now and if I gett he 60  and then use the 15 as a reserve that wil give me 75 gal  thats close to 80 isnt it ?

I could put a couple on the frame after I clean it up, but I need to fix the body holes...that one looks like it goes in to the cab just behind the front passenger seat. Or least it will very soon.
