G52 Gaskets
« on: Feb 07, 2011, 07:34:32 PM »
I built a W56 with the marlin HD kit a few years ago, and it came with some REALLY nice gaskets.  They weren't paper, more like stamped from thin rubber sheets.

Anyone know who sells this type of gasket?  These seem much more forgiving than permatex, in terms of working time and assembly skill.  I want a similar set for a leaky G52.

Rubber or charcoal colored gasket material?  You can buy the material and make your own, but I bought both an L52 and g54 gasket set off ebay a year or two ago and the gaskets looked pretty good.  Can't remember from who I bought them, but the prices were pretty low.

I'm not so good with colors, but I thought they were gray.  It was some sort of rubbery spandex stuff.

I just bought a set off ebay for $5, seller was partswoman.  They came just before I started this thread, were pretty chinsy.  Got what I paid for.  Funny thing, with shipping I paid like $10 but it came in a flat rate box that cost $10.50.   :smack:

I'll keep watching ebay unless someone knows a source.  Maybe I should call Marlin and see if they would sell a gasket set, but it's not on their website? :crossed:

I was just looking at marlin's transmission rebuild kit webpages, perhaps I'm mistaken.  Maybe it was just the tranny/tcase gasket that was rubber while all others were paper.

I guess I'll just go to the stealer for a set.
