the coil from the 93 grounds through its mounts so if you mounted it to the fender without grinding off the paint it could be your problem, just an idea.  good luck

Are you getting power to the coil?  Is the pick up in the dist. sending signal?

the computer controls ground.
is the manifold ground hooked up?
do you know if the ECU is actually turning on?
do you have a CEL wired in?
hold this. . .

ok, so it doesnt work @ all, any interior power?

or it just doesnt have spark?

if it isnt spark, could be a few things..... timing, coil, igniter, distributor, or a too dead battery.....

however, if you are jumping the starter, why isnt the key not starting the vehicle?

Sounds like you have a issue with the coil and ignitor.  Maybe the wire between the dist and coil.  Just cause you got power to the coil/ignitor, doesn't mean they are working.  Find somebody that has a working coil and ignitor and try those.  Check to see what the resistance is in the wiring.

When I bought my truck it wouldn't start, but would try.  Come to find out there was a bad wire that ran over the exhaust manifold that had fried the wires.  I didn't know about this until I checked for resistance in the wire harness.  I followed the holy bible (FSM)   On what each and every wire should be getting for resistance and ohms.  Without that, I would have had to buy a harness.
