I've heard of the water deal, or other ways of adding weight to your tires like that but, have only seen it for comp. buggies.
I don't know anyone who does it for the trail that I can think of.

This is commonly done by competition rock crawlers.  It is not a good idea past about 10-15mph, you can't balance a tire 1/2 full of water.

I would imagine the gas mileage on the trail would be miserable, but who cares about mileage when wheeling anyway?

Being full of water would fix that...........

I don't think I know any comp guys that run them completely full.  Will you try it and report back?

(FYI, tires full of water are VERY heavy.  Expect breakage, especially on a Toy axle)  :yesnod:

Most people i think fill the tire to the valve stem. Its not for dialy driving but if you climb steep waterfalls then the added weight at the lowest point of you rig helps keep the rubber side down.

if you are climbing up a waterfall at say a 45 degree angle the water too would go 45 degrees back. it would no longer put all that weight to the surface the tire is on

Its mainly to keep weight down low to aide in traction. I see more people run it only in their front tires. People also run lead shot and somethin else in their tires. I think even at a 45* climb you are still gaining traction from the added weight if not all on the front tires then im sure alot of the weight goes to the back tires.

This would not be something that you would want to do for something that would see ANY time on the street.  What will happen is as you start to build up speed, the water is thrown to the outside of the tire, but because of friction and any irregularities in the tire, it will not flow around nicely.  Instead it will all gather up at one end of the tire and throw everything horrible out of balance.  Think about what a few ounces of weight will do for balancing a tire, now imagine instead that weight being 75 lbs instead.  That is a scary thought even at 20 mph.  If you have ever driven a tractor or even seen a backhoe driving down the road at speed you know what I am talking about, they start to rock back and forth from the water in the tires.  As far as the water freezing, that is also a good point.  I suppose for some of you here it never even gets cold enough for you to worry about that.  But for the rest of the world, we do have that problem.  Typically what we do here in MN is run Calcium Chloride inside of a tube.  I am not sure on specifics, but it takes a very low temp. to freeze that stuff (like at least -50 F I would think).  The big thing is that it needs to be in a tube, and you better pray that you never puncture the tube.  Calcium Cloride is some nasty stuff, it will cause surface rust on good paint within minutes of exposure, and I have even seen it do it in seconds on paint that is in less than great condition.  Just my thoughts.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight.  Proverbs 3:5-6  Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love and in purity.  1 Timothy 4:12

Having a lower CG can certainly help in some situations, but at some point the additional weight is still just weight.  It's like installing tool boxes on your tires.

I would think anyone willing to put water in their tires is likely also to not care about damage so unless it's a competition, who cares if you roll?

Is TG going to sell large volume helium balloons next to tie to the low corner of the roll bar?   :haha:

I'm glad to see some one bring this up I always thought calcium chloride in trail tires would be a great idea though I never thought about water and antifreeze

Having a lower CG can certainly help in some situations, but at some point the additional weight is still just weight.  It's like installing tool boxes on your tires.

That's the key right there:  It's not for added traction, but rather to lower your Center of Gravity (CG).  This has the effect of allowing you to go up or down steeper hills (or sideways for that matter) without rolling.  If I was going to go the route of "watering up" my tires, I'd use them only for trails/competition and then when it is time to go home, take the wheels off and put on my "daily driver" wheels.  :haha: You didn't get rid of your stock wheels, did you? :wall:  They can be pretty handy in this situation.

I didn't see any price info on that site but I'm sure it's not cheap to buy/replace.So lets say you are running thus product and wind up poping a bead and loose your fill then you have to buy more. I'm sure water w/antifreeze would be much cheaper.
