Formula Toyota Chassis
« on: Nov 01, 2008, 03:52:14 PM »
It is with great sadness that I'm posting my Formula Toyota chassis for sale. :(

My finances just do not allow me to finish it the way that I want to, and I refuse to throw it together with plans to "fix" or re-do it at a later time.  My  wife and I have committed to getting ourselves prepared to purchase another house when the time is right, and that plan will not allow me to make the comp schedule even if I could get the car built.

I'm not quite prepared to go full on Dave Ramsey though, so I'll be keeping my drivetrain and putting it into a cheap pickup so that I can get out wheeling locally again.

Here's the specs.

Formula Toyota 2-seat chassis #88

I think that it has every option.
DOM chassis
Side panel bracing
Dash bar
Back seat bar
Grill hoop
Chassis drilled for air storage

This puts the chassis at a little under $1800

Chassis is tacked to an 83 standard cab shortbed 4wd frame using Hendrix F-Toy chassis mounts.  Frame has many hours of work into welding up all the holes and cleaning off all the brackets.  The factory engine mounts are still on the frame as a reference point to build new ones the allowed 8-inches back, 1-inch down.

Front and rear crossmembers from ToolBox Guy/80Proof
Rear is a fully integrated chassis mount with anti inversion shackles and inboarded rear leaf spring mounts.  All very bling. :smokin:

Everything is just tacked together in case you don't like how I set anything up.  This will make it a bit fragile to move though.  I can put some more weld on things for transport if requested.

I have a clear title OHV title for an 87 4runner with the matching vin plate from the dash and a current green sticker registration.

EDIT: $2000 for everything listed above or $1200 for just the F-Toy Chassis.

Located in Riverside, SoCal.

I have a new project, but it's still top secret.   :shhh:  Hoping to debut at New Years.

No springs, I'm using them for something else.  Just the chassis, frame and the fancy dimple died crossmembers/shackles/hangers.  Open to offers.

What would you like to know?

Whats the probability of shipping to WV.? Know Poly Performance does for $500.00 bucks...any ideas..I assume it is still for sale...I would r22 and twinstick it....my son found this and I am holding off till we see what options you have there to ship...  thanks  Charlie

Noticed you springs are further inboard than most of these Ive seen..what were your plans?  Marlins are on the outside of the red rig.  Were youusing rear springs on the front to add length?   Sorry bad angle on Iphone....I see the spring set up now...know problem there.

$500 sounds cheap to me.  I really don't know anything about what shipping costs or how to even do it.  If you're really interested I can ask this guy for a quote.  I've met him and he's a good guy.

http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=734876

The rear springs are set up to be inboarded to the same width as the front springs which is what the Formula Toyota competition rules allow.  The Marlin Crawler rig and every other competiton F-Toy I've seen is set up this way, just with many different styles of shackels.  Inboarding the rear springs allows the axle to create more leverage for more flex.  The front springs in the pictures are Allpro 4"

FYI, Chris can probably get it to WV for $500 but you would have to decide soon as he is leaving on Monday!
