I have been bending with a JD2 bender http://www.jd2.com/ for years and have yet to kink a tube. I have bent 180's with in both 1.5 and 1 inch 1.25 wall tube without a problem. Most of the people I know that bend tubing do not have a mandrel type bender, they are very expensive.

Hmm... I have been looking at these. I think when I am ready to buy a tube bender I will get one. I have read lots of good about them, some here and some on Pirate.

These are all copies of the Hausfield bender that has been around for years.

I have the Pro Tools copy and it works fine. I would guess they should be about the same. They have a shoe that follows the die to keep the pipe (tube) round at the point where it is bending.

I have one and don't have any problem with it. I am not an experienced fabricator
and don't have experience with other brands.

I have a JD2 full hydro and a Pro Tools 105HD manual bender. IMO, the JD2 is the better bender. Its laser cut and higher quality IMO.

The Pro Tools rarely gets used unless its for 1.5" tubing(don't have that die for the JD2).

well if you ever wanted to bend a one bend stinger /\ you would need a 240*, but other than that you would be fine with the 120*

from the looks of the dye it is not a mandrel type bender so it will kink the tube as it bends

the die is not where the problems with kinked tube/pipe come from with a POS HF kinker, its the lack of follower or "shoe" that backs the tube during the bending process. The bender in the link is clearly a hausfield type bender, with follower, but the die in that pic is way small.

to OP- bender looks fine but do yourself a favor and get a 240* die
