try 12voltguy for a very detailed diagram that worked for me
I also taught him how to put in 5min of hard work and then spend 15min staring and admiring what you have done...
i need to figure mine out. the window wont work at the switch.Hey Bigarms do you have a link? I looked on the website but didn't see any tech articles.
If your putting power to the switch at the center console & it works then it sounds like your power source from the fuse panel to the switch in the center console. Did you check the fuse?
We messed with those wipers on our 4Runners for awhile, but i've now come to the conclusion that the cap on the 4Runner is really just a glorified topper. I don't have a wiper on either of my toppers, why do i need one on the back of a 4Runner? You don't see them on the rear windows of many vans, either. Probably the manufacturer of an SUV is just required by law to have a wiper on the rear.So now i just remove the motor and wiper, and fiberglass over the holes. A little paint and it looks factory, and i don't have to worry about it failing, or the window refusing to go up or down cause the wiper isn't in the perfect position.
on my runner, i disabled the rear window, wiper ect. many years ago. now that im a little older and more picky, i decided that i would like everything in my truck to work.
Wasnt it a PITA to get stuff in your tub with the window stuck up? or did you have it stuck down with the top always off??
Look at the control box behind the panel of the drivers side seat belt. Should be a brown box, that's about 3x4. Disconnect it and open it. Probally will be all kinds of green fuzz on the circuit panel.
I was thinking it may just be the switch that says the window is not all the way up and if thats the case it wont turn on.
well, first, my hats off to "Attitude of Grattitude"man, i went and took out that reley box and cleaned it up-everything works, infact the second i installed the box the wiper came on because the switch was in the on position im thrilled, thansk man@! have a few on me!!!
