Built 85 SR5 4runner Now Special Marlin bbs $$
« on: Nov 20, 2007, 11:04:34 PM »
UPDATE: I'm gonna add another option for you broke ass wheelers.  I will take out my Longfields and put back the stock front inners and birfs, (I'll even throw in a spare stock birf) AND replace both the thirds with some 4.10 thirds, one with a lockright and one open (or I can have it welded)

$4500 firm optioned this way

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________

Price reduced special for the Marlin Board.

$6500

Still at 7k on Pirate.

Since most of the Big Bear trails were burned in the fire and won't be open for a while, most all of my "street legal" only wheeling has gone away and I have decided to build a Formula Toyota.  I was going to use my 4runner as a base, but there were some things that I would have done differently if I were building a comp F-Toy rather than a trail rig so I've decided to sell my 4runner and start from scratch on the F-Toy.

Truck is located in Riverside, SoCal
Cash only, no trades.
Donald (909) 648-0752

Specs:

Engine:
22re fuel injected
Unknown mileage, but runs well
I bought it out of the Race-Dezert classifieds from a guy who was swapping in a V8.  He claimed to have done a head gasket and timing chain but I have no proof.
V6 radiator, 1-year old

Trans:
W56 5-speed shifts good, no problems.
Recent clutch with less than 2k miles on it.

Transfer Cases:
21 spline dual cases
2.28 stock front case, top shifting
Marlin MC07 dual case adaptor
4.7 rear case with Marlin gears
Tripple drilled flanges on both outputs
FROR dual tcase mount & skid plate
AllPro transfercase E-Brake

Front Axle:
Original 85 housing
5.29 Yukons with new master install kit
Tripple drilled flange
Aussie Locker
Latest style Longfield 30 spline super set (still needs the hub gears)
AllPro front diff armor and upper truss
Knuckle gussets & steering stop reinforcements
1.5" wheel spacers
Vented rotors
Extended brake lines
Bearings/Seals/Felts all redone when the Longs went in
U-Bolt flip
Third secured with the Trail Gear "bolts" that replace the stock studs
Square tube driveshaft

Rear Axle:
86-up wider rear housing
5.29 Yudons with new master install kit
Tripple drilled flange
Detroit Locker
V-6 Third member
U-Bolt flip
Extended brake line
Rebuilt Toyota CV driveshaft with long slip splines & Chevy u-joints by Banning Driveline

Suspension:
Front AllPro 4" springs
AllPro droped front hanger and shackels
AllPro shock hoops
Rancho 9000 shocks
Marlin billet high steer
IFS steering box moved forward on FROR mount (box purchased rebuilt from Marlin by the previous owner)

Rear Marlin 5" springs
Marlin sloped front spring hanger
Rancho 9000 shocks in the stock location

Tires:
4- 37x12.50x15 Goodyear MTR's 80% or better
4- 15x10 Black steel Soft 8 style (round holes) wheels.  2 or 2.5 inch backspacing.  Some pretty good rock rash.

Body/Interior:
Marlin rock sliders
Trail Gear front winch mount plate.  No winch.  I was going to build a front bumper around the winch mount but never got around to it.
Rust in the rear fender wells
Body has dents pretty much all over, but doesn't look that bad for a rock crawler.  Factory paint is fading a bit.
Grey "SR5" seats front & rear
SR5 gauges with inclinometer
3 rock lites installed but not wired up yet

Bad stuff:
Rear window isn't working.  I have the 12Volt Guy kit to fix it (I just have to find it)
I had to cut out the catylitic convertor to put the FROR dual case crossmember in.  It will need to be replaced to pass smog.  I'll see about getting this done.
One caliper bolt is stripped.  Knuckle needs to be helicoiled or replaced.  Still runs and drives OK (bolt is in there but loose)
Occasional death wobble @ around 35mph, and a consistent vibration at freeway speed.

Some wheeling pictures (last one is before the Iroks)

Forgot that the rear third w/detroit is a V6 model.  Also it has a Thorley ceramic coated header.  Ca smog legal and it's very pretty. :bling:

Thanks guys.

I got my "new" formula toyota donor home today and I've decided that I'm going to switch the wheels & tires.  I'd rather keep my Iroks for now so this truck is for sale with these 37x12.50x15 Goodyear MTR's on 15x10, 2 or 2.5 inch backspaced wheels.  The wheels are a little beat up from wheeling, but all hold air fine.  I'll get them swapped over and take some pics of it tomorrow.  In the mean time, these are the tires.

Some of the interior...

Sunroof!  I even have the "factory" cover for it.  I'm told they are hard to find.  It fell on my head once so I never run it.

Hahaha I actually ran that thing for about a year, but after almost losing an eye to it I tossed it in the garage and I havnt reinstalled it yet. I would love when it would assault me for no reason, just driving down the freeway.

Yeah, thats all Big Bear.   I haven't been to the Rubicon or Fourdyce so I can't offer a comparison, but I'd guess that they are similar.  Big Bear is just smaller.  You could run 3-4 trails in a day here.  Unfortunately many of them are now closed from the fire.

Now riding on 37 MTR's

I'll throw in a Tabor 9k winch and a set of tube doors for the right offer.
And I found the 12Volt guy rear window kit.

No thanks.  I'll only consider trades if it is something that I think I can sell easier, like a clean stock rig.  (or maybe a samurai, I love me the samurai's :outtahere: )
