my 1979 20r started idle to high play with but it wont idle right just looking for some help or info thank you

try the idle adjustment screw.... timing.... or maybe the choke is stuck?

thank you for the help but i tried that and it still idles at 1500 rpm have not check timing yet will do that later thank you

You may have a vacuum leak somewhere. check for that. I would disconnect the brake booster line and plug it, first. Then check all of your vacuum lines. Then, check all of the egr connections, from exhaust to intake. It sounds like it is getting air from somewhere besides the carb (can't adjust down).

Logged It ain't worth doin' if you don't have to clean up afterwards! Build it, break it, fix it, repeat until your wallet is empty.
