NEW project here we go again
« on: Oct 26, 2010, 07:38:36 PM »
Ok so some of you mite remember i built a 4runner last year to drive across country and wheel at all the good places  MOAB Rubicon Fordyce ect ect  well it worked great  but then i had a weak moment and traded it to a friend for his very nice heep  :smack:  Drove the heep back to FL and sold it 2 weeks later     then i bought a stock Tacoma    and drove it rt back across country  :smack: and moved to OR.  I really liked the Tacoma  but it was like haveing a old mans truck   so i sold it  and bought a 85 ex cab to start over  .

Love the paint job on the runner! Nice xtra cab...miss mine. Some of my best memories are from wheeling that truck as hard as a I could on 32's...

That lift was fun to install today. Darn rusted bolts hah. Glad we got it all done in time though and you made it home safe.

why and how could you sell that 4-runner?  talk about clean and gorgeous.  I bet whoever bought it just rubbed their hands in glee when you drove away...I guess at least you can build a new one!

I traded it to a friend of mine .  I was sick of him haveing a jeep  so i got him into Toyotas .  Half the fun is Building them for me .  When i built the last 4runner i had no intention of getting rid of it . I drove that thing all over the US last summer   only problem i had was the fuel sending unit went out .  I saw a add for tires for sale but seen a Marlin sticker in the add and called it just to see if by chance he  would have one . Now a year later turns out it was Gnob LOL  i now live rt down the street .  Every time i build one i learn something and try and make the next one better .

Ok not sure why My cam wont load the pics rt now ? but i will  figure it out later .  So  the truck has a freshly rebuilt engine  . 1500 miles on it now . It runs good but has just been not 100% .  I have re checked the valves 3 times  re adj the timeing  ect ect . well  it had a broken BVSV   i went to Toyota to get one   and they were $85  umm no thanks   so i  Called up LC e  and orderd the EGR block off plates . I installed them today  and it really smothed out my idle  and seems to be running much better . Plus it cleaned up my engine  alot .

I will take some   more pics of the mount  .  For some reason my Cam wont download into my comp now ?    But thank you  .   this truck has been kinda a fun project  so far  only have had it 2 weeks now .    Today  i helped a guy i know  remove his front 3rd  i guess someone wanted to buy it ? anyways  he gave me the stock asian hubs off of it   so i will swap out these superwinch things .   and when we got the 3rd out it did not have the detroit that it was suposed to have  it was just a lock-rite .  i told him i would give him 50 for it   .

Well not alot to update rt now . I have been really busy with work .  We have been getting some good snow this year so i have been able to go play in it . I am not to impressed with the BFG KM2 in the snow .  i am going to have them sipped and see if that helps them ?      I was also hopeing MC would get some bumpers again ?  who knows if that will ever happen   so i am going to start makeing some tommorow .
