« on: Oct 16, 2007, 08:53:47 AM »
134,000 miles on the rear axle..  V-6 third with 4.10's..  Came out of a turbo truck,,  I will sell complete or split up third and the complete axle from drum to drum..    $100.00 for the third, $100 for the axle, or $175.00 for both not taken apart

There was a V6 turbo?  I'm interested in the 3rd.

I beleive the TURBO trucks, had the same third as the V6 trucks, but becuase you dont call it a turbo third, you call it a v-6 third.....I think thats what he was meaning
Sand, what fun, drop pressure to 12psi, stock tires are still digging, can't afford to get stuck, 8psi, still not working. Find a place to GET OUT, air up, un-lock hubs,  WAIT whats this, hubs are UN-LOCKED already. 2wd, 8psi, stock tires, Oregon sand dunes.

v-6 and turbo are the same.. And to find one with 134,000 miles is kind of hard to do.. It is a real good price..  you won't have to put bearings on the axles and the third feels real tight..  clean and no leaks also..

Which 3rd is the one that comes with 4:88's and can't be regeared?  I heard of that awhile ago.

Turbo's came with a 3.42 gear, but with a few coming with a 4.10!  From what I understand, the 4.10 came out of a few 4runners that had a auto!  But for general consensus, 99% of all turbo's had the 3.42.

Here's a quick link!

And for the 4.88 info!

..  I have had a few stock 4x4 turbo trucks and none of them have ever had 3.42's..maybe the 2 wheel drives is what they are refering too, I'll double  check though.....  If they had 3.42's they would total doggs with the lag of the turbo and the lower compression off the line..  Like I said earlier  if anything they  need slightly lower gears ..  I guess they made up for it with the lower 151f tranny first gear

this plays in perfect for the term "don't trust everything you READ on the internet"  I went and double checked and it is indeed a 4.10 diff..  then I thought well let me check the codes on the vin tags..  And boy it was a G29 wich translates to a 4.10 gear ratio..this is the fourth turbo toyota pickup and each one has had 4.10's..

Good research Pat.
I somehow ended up with a 4cyl third that had 3.79's in my 83 front housing.
The look stock too...  :headscratch:
anyone wanna explain that to me? ???
