Awesome, thanks. Are either of these your guys' rigs? If so did you have trouble putting the rear shackle hanger bolts in? I'm having clearance issues, not to  mention mix and matching every bolt I was sent...

i owned the red one. i helped build the white one.
i didnt have problems getting the bolts in, but i did have problems in that the bushings were too wide, and i actually had to grind the bushings down so the shackle would slide over the bushing.. a "low profile" bushing would have been ideal...

on the rear hanger, i did have to grind out some of the stock hanger for the bushing to clear. the bushing and the hanger were trying to occupy the same space, so i had to make room for the bushing without it getting chewed up.

other than everything being very tight fitting, i had no other issues.

X2 on the bushing problem, I have a set of used YJ springs that's going on a buddy's CJ soon just for a fit up, and the same thing happened to me. I need to get another set of leafs but can't find any local and

(oops) I don't want to pay over $400 on some new ones. It seems like NO ONE has used jeep springs, which I thought would be easy to find... Any Ideas??

go to www.jeepforum.com and post up in the wanted section. or stop by a local 4wd store, or find a local jeep club. youd be suprised at the number of YJ owners that just want the springs out of their way and are willing to give away or sell their stock springs...

i have never paid a whole lot for YJ springs (most sets are given to me).

i have 2 pairs of rear CJ springs if you want em. they have the same dimensions as YJ springs, only not quite as much arc... i will take $150 shipped for them.

Yeah I haven't checked EVERY resource here in town yet, that jeep club thing is a great idea, need to find one around here. Thanks for the offer on the CJ ones but I'm doing a YJ swap on a buddy's CJ as well so I could have his springs if I wanted. Have you driven on any of the Old Man Emu springs before? What kind of drive shafts did you run on the red one?

So I have another Q about he YJ spring swap(sorry I'm a Toyota guy and its the wife's), so my sky kit came with a larger bolt for the shackle side than the spring mount side, but the side that has the larger hole on the YJ springs is the side that has only one wrap on the leafs. Should the side of the spring that has 2 wraps go on the shackle or the spring mount side???

i would think the wrap would go against the shackle... never seen that before.

so i take it you got some springs? great!

yeah i always keep a jeep club close. they are good for springs when you warp one. ;D

The springs I have are for my friends CJ that we're doing a swap on, and I'm just using them as a fit-up. Yeah I thought the double wrap would go on the shackle side and the single would go on the hanger side, but with some of the stuff I have been reading on the other forums about the SKY kit is that it is real dicked up sometimes. I think I'll just have to mix and match the spring bushings to make eveything fit in the way it should. Such a hassle :shakehead:
