Quick fuel line question: Updated
« on: Aug 21, 2007, 05:25:00 PM »
I am replacing the sending unit on my runner and like the dummy i am i forgot to mark which fuel line goes where, and my Haynes fails to show this. So i there are three tubes on the top of the sending unit which hard line does each one go to. Pics would be helpful. thanks

pull the sending unit  and see which one  comes off the bottom of the tank,  thats the "fuel to engine" line

the one that just dumps into the top is the vent or return

it is 22re
On the sending unit one line goes to the fuel pump one line goes to the bottom of the tank and the other dumps out at the top of the sending unit.

On the hard linse one line goes to the charcoal canister, one line goes to fuel rail by the fire wall and the other one goes on the other end of the fuel rail by the front of the truck.

oOk so i figured out my fuel lines and the truck ran fine over the weekend but yesterday on the way home from work the truck started bogging down so i pulled off the highway and popped my hood and fuel was pouring out of the vent hose in the bottom of my charcoal canister. So i plugged the hose. Then after trying to start it again i noticed it dripping out of my intake tube where it connected to the throttle body so i pulled the tube off and about a quart of fuel came pouring out my throttle body and it kept dripping for about a half hour after that.

What is going on??? Is the return line clogged if so why would my charcoal canister fill up?
