Im looking for a soft top for my 4runner. im looking to replace the hard top its taking a beating. Ive seen a few online but on peoples rigs. thanks for the help.

Ghetto tech here(I had 5 minutes to figure something out last minute):

Take a tarp. Pull it under and over the roll bar and back to the cab.
Line up the two outside holes on the cab with a couple holes on tarp.
Bolt in with washers. Trim tarp. Poke 2 more holes for the inner holes.
Line holes with squares of duct tape. Top off by sealing sides with bits of duct tape. Tada. 5 minutes and now the dogs are in the shade!

Here's the dog saying thanks. Notice how it seperated a little up top?

That was after 6 hours of driving, at up to 75/80mph. Went through high winds, too. I'd say it held up damn fine, considering the last-minute/quick thinking nature of it.

Until you get what you need, if you NEED shade, for your pets or folks - this is a temporary remedy.

That, and it's funny as hell if you think about how ghetto it is.

ha ha OK thats funny but i don't have a roll bar yet. but I'm looking for something more permanent.

You are going to need a roll bar of some sort to get this to work

thanks that will work during the summer. im looking for a full top sides and back i know i will need to make a frame or roll bar to make it work. thanks for the info.

your gonna have to make your own, i dont know of a company that makes a complete soft top.

i have seen there stuff befroe online, and it looks ok... nowhere near a canback though....

if you look on their site, they have one listed, but there are no pics or description....

I emailed them & this was the response I got. Quick customer service though. I got a response in 15 min.

These tops are no longer available. The manufacture went out of business
last year.

As far as i know, Canback went under for a few years but is now under new ownership and back in action. Pricey, but quality tops.
