someone in the bay area to set up my gears?
« on: Jun 25, 2007, 06:49:21 AM »
I got an empty v6 third ready for yukon 5.29's, detriot locker, solid crush sleeve and yukons install kit. I live in Livermore and I was wondering if there is anyone close by that is familiar with toyota rear ends and is willing to set up my gears for a reasonable cost?

Petes' gear works in Hayward. Some other places will build them as well. You can look in the yellow pages under automotive differential service even some transmission shops will build rear ends. The reason I ask is since I've always built my own I might be able to save you some money and be fair with the build cost. I just don't know what they are charging for a gear build these days. I do have all the proper tools and have built many succesfully. I'm in Dublin also.

Livermore to Fresno is closer to 2.5 hours.
5S to Los Banos, cut across 152 to 99.

I live in Walnut Creek, and it takes me 3 hours.  Livermore is about 30 minutes in that direction.  Not bad.

Looks like lots of folks helping out here.  Right on.
