Procomp X Terrains?
« on: Dec 06, 2007, 10:49:33 PM »
I need some bigger tires and I have a buddy with a set of 35x12.50-15 Procomp X Terrains about 75-80% tread and he wants $200 for them. I am currently running 33x12.50-15 MTRs and I LOVE them! I want to know how you guys like the performance of the X Terrain tires on the rocks and in the snow.

I had a set and liked them. Thay work really good in the rocks, mud on the other hand, they tend to pack up quick and not clean out very well.

This is what keeps me from buying them unless I find them really cheap.  I'd jump on the deal just cause they're really cheap!

Yea i will get them for sure. and if I don't like them I will sell them for more and go back to MTRs. I have heard something about them doing better in the snow when you put them on backwards? Has anybody esle heard about that?

Yea I plan on grooving them with my buddies hott knife. They seem like they wont have much sidehill bite so I want to take care of that.

Overall they are a good tire. They wear extremely good on the road if you plan to do alot of highway driving.

On a similar note, I stopped by a friend's shop yesterday and saw he had the new procomp mudders on his jeep (I know, I know) and they looked much better than I thought they did in the pics.  They were more open than I expected and I definately liked the tread pattern.  Looks like they'll have good bite at all angles.

Good choice . I liked mine. It doesn't matter what tire you buy, they all have their limitations

Just like most of you, I got a real good deal on my X-terrains. I have never been in snow with them, but they seem like they are designed for rocks and sand. I like them way better than the AT and MT tires I have had in the past.

The one tire I like more is the Mickey Thompson Baja Claws.....similar in design, but deeper lugs.
