84 / 86 Door Question
« on: Dec 17, 2006, 06:32:28 PM »
I have a question about doors. I have a set of 84 SR5 pickup doors with electric windows from my previous truck, but moving to a 86 4Runner that has the old you crank em up and down windows. No problem, but the seals around the windows are gone and the windows don't roll up and down so well. My thought was to make the 84 SR5 doors into a mechanical (i.e. you hand crank them up and down), transfer the 4Runner trim (different color) and then use them on the 4Runner if it is easy. Is this possible? Will it take allot of effort/parts or is it easy? Or would it be better to just replace all the seals on the 4Runner door and sell the SR5 doors to cover the seal cost. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
