Drive Shaft work for the Dual Crawler Case
« on: Oct 17, 2006, 11:27:01 AM »
Im getting ready put the dual crawler case in my 85 4 runner but i have heard alot of things about drive shaft work that needs to be done to it.   i know that the rear shaft needs to be shorten and the front drive shaft needs to be lenghtened.  when i lifted it i didnt need to get the 8 inch spline that was recommeded with lift so would it work for the dual crawler.

Measure from flange to flange and see where you are from there.  You are probably going to need to do driveshaft work on both.

well  to run a 85 shaft on my 79 with dualcases  all i needed was a 8 inch slip  on the 85 shaft,   im thinking it wont be quite enough  on a 85 rig,    i would go 8inch slip  and a longer tube

go have one made with tractor spline or use square tube.. the longer stock spline is to weak for any real wheeling and not enough travel

Do it right the first time and you won't regret it even if it costs a bit more money.
