ok guys....i just got a 86 X-cab toyota 22R 5 speed ok it has a shake like in the drive line so i think its a u joints..nop...so im lookin and i can shake the tranny yoke....are thay like that? and if i put it in R and back up it shakes like a chatter .. bad...sumtimes...can i get sum help on this?

Check the rear output bearing in t/case.

THat you need to check the rear output bearing.  :hahaha:

I think it is as simple as unbolting that flange, and pulling it off, but wait for someone else to chime in to make sure :thumbs:

didnt i answer this last night in a another thread :dunno:

im guessing the rear output flange is loose  or the bearing is toast,  either way its got to come off to see

pull  the 4 bolts holding the drive shaft on,  then theres a large i think 30mm  nut that must come off

Remove the rear driveshaft, and tighten the 30 mm nut to 95 foot lbs. Remember to restake the nut with a dull chisle.
