Gear Driven TC on 22RE Auto?
« on: Sep 04, 2006, 07:34:10 PM »
My g/f might be buying a 1991 Toyota Pick-up 2wd and I was wondering if it is possible to pull the tailsection off of the Auto tranny and bolt up a gear driven TC to it?

It can be done, but it's pricey!  Here's an adapter from InchWorm:

http://www.inchwormgear.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=86

Marlin makes an adapter plate too, but it might be for the V6 Auto only...  Not sure.  Give 'em a ring and see if their plate will work, as it'll save you some bucks.  As for a gear driven tcase, Marlin may have beat you to the punch and bought all of them.

Advanced Adapters might have an adapter plate as well, but I doubt the cost will be a whole lot different from InchWorm...

Hah! Thanks Saber. I already have 2 gear driven t-cases so I think I am good. I was really hoping i didn't need a adapter.
Oh well, thanks for the info... If there is an adapter involved then it would be way to pricey for my g/f.
