rhino lining extravaganza
« on: Jul 04, 2006, 08:52:27 AM »
i got the 4runner rhino lined, it covered alot of "rubirash" and i think helped alot with the overall appearance and usability of the truck, as i dont have to worry about scratches on the lower half of the rig where they more commonly occur, i think its sweet. whatcha yall think?? i did it at the door line down, following the fender lines, and 1 1./2 inches of the front of the hood, to protect from the buggaboos on the freeway. cost-400.00, time, about 8 hours

Looks pretty good. What did it cost?

That's not bad, considering the protection it affords.

I think it looks great, it also will help protect from dents. But when it gets dirty wont it be hard to clean?

This is off topic but what are the specs on your 4runner.  How much lift does it have?  What size tires are you running?  I like looks of it a lot.       The rhino lining looks good to but the front looks a little weird.

specs...well...um...i dunno..alot, it has toy rears in front with 6 additional waggoneer leaves, shackles under frame, 2 inch drop box moved 2 inches forward, total 4-5 inch foreward movement, 63 inch rear leaves with 3 inch blocks, drop down shackles and jhonney joints in rear springs, budbuilt traction bar, 37 x13.5 toyo mts on 17x9 soft 8 steelies....lc engineering performer efi motor...turbo trans with dual ultimate crawler cases...2.5 ton drive lines with toyota flanges.....full body rmour made of 1/2 wall tubing thats freakin heavy.
total lift...um..maybe 9, 10 inches...i dunno, no body roll though so its all good

and i rhino lined the front because i figured that if i was going to do it at all i might as well protect
from shrubs and bugs in the front, i love the way it looks, so does the wife, i guess thats all tha matters

As long as you like it and are happy with it, that is all that matters.          I don't know what I like so much about your 4runner but its one of my favorites. :beerchug:  Very clean and good looking.   ;)

I think you said the reason without even realizing it, "Very clean and good looking.", most of the build ups involve extensive body mods that take away from the original look of the vehicle. Dan's still looks like a 4Runner and can wheel with the best of them.

Looks great!  Is it UV sensative? I always wondered how it would look 4-5 years from now.

I've told you before that your rig is my favorite on this site. I enjoy built rigs but I am not a fan of the huge exo's so thats why you and kyota get my votes for the coolest rigs on the site. The rhino lining looks awesome, i'm about to do that to my ram but i'm getting straight color match to match the white paint. I think the front end looks awesome too, unlike some say.

it is really rhino lining, i had them add a gloss to it, as well as a uv protection layer

as for the tires, they are 37x13.5x17 and the wheels have a 4 inch back spacing...les scwabb calls it a "standard rear wheel drive offset"
