Locker or not?
« on: Jul 28, 2006, 10:18:01 AM »
I have an '82 yota.  I just rebuilt my front axle for a 4.5" Lift.  I am interested in some kind of locker or LSD for the front.  I am going Aussie in the rear.  I do street driving, but with the hubs freewheeling it doesn't matter what I have.  I want traction, but don't have upgraded inners or birfs.  What can I safely run without doing any damage?  Which locker would be the best for this aplication.  I have a mostly stock 22R

Lock it!! As long as you are not a throttle jocky and always remember what is inside the front you will be fine.

If you can afford it, go with an ARB or a Toyota E-locker. You get the best of both worlds. Fully locked when you need it and open when you need to steer in tight places, without the worry of weather or not the clutch pack is going to grab or not.

yes fireball is right depending on your finances. But an aussie or trutrac up front should work great
