Sounds like you did your home work.

These are all mods that people here are doing and having good results with.

hey DOC  the 1st gen toyotas  are the best out there, you should get a dual case setup  so the going is alot slower and easier on the clutch

and besides you'll love that 3rd stick  :eyebrow:
AR-TTORA founder 22R bored.060,LCE stage II race cam http://pure-gas.org/    32/36weber, :driving: Marlin 1200 NON ceramic clutch, L52SHD+dualcase #2919, cable-locker, Yukon 5.29 gears, 35's, Allpro ebrake, front springs, and high steer, F150rears    RIP Nitro 9-29-07 :(  I sure miss him  MarlinCrawlerInc IS NOT affiliated with TrailGear in any way

Heck yeah dude!  That sonds like it'll get the job done pretty nicely.  As long as you're not a "skinny pedal" driver and take it easy with that front locker, you'll be set for a while.  I'd agree with the dual cases idea mentioned above for sure.  Have fun!

You didn't say if it will be a Daily Driver or not.

(1) 30-Spline Longfields

(2) 5.29 Yukon Gears

(3) Aussie Locker front  & Welded rear  :disturbed: I would spend the coin and get a pair of Aussie's.

(4) 38 inch tires  I wouldn't go larger than 36 or 37, with your short wheelbase you should be fine.

(5) Marlin/Chevy springs   I have very little experience with either...

(6) 1" Body lift  You can hide 1", but 2" starts looking ghetto in my opinion

(7)  :turtle:  Don't forget transfer case gears, they are Lucky #1
1989 4Runner: Dual Ultimate (Inchworm front & Marlin 4.70 rear), Marlin Twin Stick, 1200-lb clutch, 4.88 R&P, Aussie Front, Detroit rear, 30-spline Longs, Long hub gears, ARP hub and knuckle studs & 35x12.50 Cooper STT PRO tires.  Marlin rear bumper & sliders.  FROR front bumper.  SAS with Alcan springs & Rancho 9000XL shocks.  Budbuilt Bolt-on traction bar.  Custom Interior Cage by Those Guys Rod and Customs.
