Differential Protection
« on: Jan 31, 2006, 09:35:37 AM »
The top thread states there is no format, so I did not see any problems posting  a product, I though it was the right forum. But, it seems it was unacceptable. I apologise.
My intent was not to rip anyone off. I would delete the thread, but it seems I can't.

So you are selling half of a pipe cap ($30/2=$15) for $75 & $100?
Nice profit.
I'd probably buy one if I didn't know what it was.

Mini, didn't you make a set of those for your truck? :yesnod:

This is why people get pissed off when a newbie comes on and in fact is SPAMMING on MC'S site. If you want to try and sell your wares here do it through MC as a vendor, don't think it will work though they already have stuff like that.

Sorry to say it but I see a Coyote and his lilbuddy in you future. It is a great idea and on the cheap, but most people can make those themselves here or know someone that can and will do it for them as a friend and for a couple beers.

Goodluck though, I'm sure someone will not have the resourses and want them, they are beefy as hell. They may not mess with since you are not a real business.

Darn, I did not mean to offend anyone, not trying to rip anyone off either.
There is a fair amount of work involved in making these, and if you have done it you know this. It's not just a pipe cap cut in half. It needs to be sectioned, holes cut for fill and drain, and then smoothed out with a grinder. It is not a secret recipe, but it is time consuming.
My apologies if someone else is allready making something similar, but I have not seen it.
You're right, I'm not a business, just a guy hacking these out in his garage. I did not see anything indicating trying to sell a few caps was against the rules. I will delete this immediately if it is.

I've made 2 and the "fair amount of work" took me about 20 minutes.
Sell your personal stuff here, don't sell products that you intend to mass produce for profit.

nice work but good gawd thats rediculous, now if you were starting with a sheet of 1/4", laser cutting (or plasma for that matter)  using a brake to bend them up real nice and welding then yeah but for a $15 weldable pipe cap :shake:

The $15 covers one half, and since you can get 2 dif protectors out of one cover, they came to $30. Prices have gone up though.

they're sayin $30 for the whole cap, $15 for each protector (one half cap for each axle)  so now each axle has gone up to $20 a protector  :yikes:  big cost bump :smack:
