so i took my block into the machine shop to get it bored out etc. well there was a sensor on the block located directly below the oil filter that i couldnt get out so i figured i would let the machine shop take care of it. well it turns out that when i got the block back they had just plugged the hole for it and didnt give it back. so, what was it, and do i need to get a replacement??? 86' 22r motor. Thanks for any help

More than likely the knock sensor.

Knock sensor sounds right, not 100% sure though, it shouldn't cause too big of a problem though.

its not the knock sensor... tis the oil pressure sensor (sr5 models so equipped) or the low oil idiot light sensor (lower models)

Throw a mechanical oil guage in there with a metal line. You can buy the metric adapter from the line to block at any parts store.
