electric locker gears?
« on: Nov 14, 2005, 11:34:59 PM »
Does anyone know if yukon v6 gears will fit into a electric locker? Also any recomindations on which brand of gears to buy? I have gone thru two sets of 5.29 genuine gears, I did get new ones for free but im sick of them breaking.

yes  the v6 gears bolt right to a elocker,

i have heard genuine gears are soft  and wear quickly

from what ive heard Marlin uses only Yukon gears,  so that should say something for them

aussie talks about making one for the v6, but it has been years and none has ever come out...... same as the otehr locker companies too for the most part.....

yeah genuine gear is crap, sure they have a lifetime warranty, but they arent as good as the other ones, and when you have to pay labor on a part that is free, its still gonna suck and youd wished you payed the little more the first time

Thanks. As for the gears im definately going with the yukon. I install many gear sets for my self and friends and it seems that most of the gennuine sets didnt last to long, the other ones are still going strong.
