Central Valley Campgrounds
« on: Jul 20, 2005, 09:13:13 PM »
My club is going to Dusy-Ershim the end of the month, and I was going to go a day early. Does anyone know of a decent campground off of highway 99 somewhere between Bakersfield and Fresno. I planned on going half way and waiting for the rest of my group and hooking up with them for the rest of the drive. I did Google Earth the 99 and found several along the way but only could find out the name of a couple and they were the crappy looking ones from the air. I did see one outside of Tulare on a river right off the highway if anyone knows the name and maybe a # I would appreciate it.

Take the Ave 384 exit there is a place call  The River or Riverland it is on the west side of freeway 99. You cant miss it with all the trailers & motorhomes. The next exit will be Mendoceno that cuts through Kingsburg. Thats the short cut to  Shaver Lake coming from the south. If that don't work you  can park in the Albertsons parking lot at the Conejo exit........... Dean

Cool, I think that's the one I saw from the satellite picture. I was right off the 99 right along side a river. Thanks for the info, I see if I can get the # with the names you gave me.

Thank you very much 4THEWKN, I found the phone # from the info you gave me and made reservations for Friday. The name is Riverland RV Resorts 559.897.5166 $28.00 with full hookups. Sits right on the Kings River. My wife didn't think anyone would know a good site, let alone the one I was looking at on the satellite images. This bb is awesome, there's a lot more that 4x4 info here.  :yesnod:
