« on: Nov 01, 2016, 08:13:38 PM »
I have a 82 toyota and the motor is shot and needs replaces!  So i can get a really good deal on a complete 22r motor for a late 80s truck is it going to be the same and work out??

Yes, any 22r motor will bolt up to your existing motor mounts and transmission. The only thing you may have to do is add or remove intake manifold studs depending on if the motor was used for EFI. But I'm not 100% sure on that.

For the price of another 22r, and to rebuild it, you should be able to swap in a 2.7l... Wish I had known that before i rebuilt my 22re

physically it is going to bolt in just fine, but there were a lot of differences in the way a 1980 22r and a 1989 22re run..... the computer and all of that, the different blocks, they are quite different animals
