95 4runner gas tank lift
« on: Apr 06, 2016, 08:49:53 AM »
Recently got a 95 4runner. Gonna build it to be a capable family wheeling rig. Is there a way to lift the gas tank, noticed it sticks down a lot. Don't want to go fuel cell cause I'm gonna need the space for 3rd row seating. Any info is appreciated. Thank you

does it have the access panel under rear seat for fuel pump, you could probably open, and get an idea of how much it will go up if any, also if you added body lift, (I'm not a fan of). you could raise it up however much body lift you went with

The easiest way would be to do a 2" body lift, then lift the tank, the body lift would also allow you to lift the drivetrain.

The other solution is to swap in a Ford F150 or E250 gas tank between teh rails behind the rear axle, or have a custom tank made for the same area.
Info on swap here,

Thanks guys. I will check it out. Thanks ovrarok. I think I'm gonna do a 1" body lift.

Thanks snowtoy I will look into it. I'm trying not lift the truck much cause my wife ain't Evan 5ft tall and don't want it to be too much of a pain for her and the kids to get into. Thanks again guys
