Depends on what rim width and offset, set up of front springs(moved forward vs stand. position w/SAS), flat bed vs. stock bed, and how much of the sheet metal you are willing to cut or modify(inner firewall). If done right, you could run 37's with little more over all lift than a rig on 33's.

No lift required. I know a guy who runs a first gen on 36's, welded front and rear, no lift. It's a very simple truck and it flat goes :driving:

I ran 37's for 5 years with 3" of lift, but I also trimmed 2" of fender. I  recently moved up to 4" trail gear front springs and added blocks in the rear to level it out. I got tired of getting more rubber removed by inner fender than the rocks I was crawling on. I have a pan-hard bar/Trac bar to prevent axel wrap. I am running Chevy's in the rear.

3" springs should give plenty of room. You may need to trim your wheelwell if you rub while turnng. it also depends on who/how your front end is set up and if your axle has been pulled forward at all while setting up your front end.

Im running 37s on like 2 inches of lift or so , truck is slammed but i took like 3" out of the fenders and dont got alot of uptravel lol,

If you dont want to cut get atleast 3" or 4" springs if the 4 is too much you can always pull leafs to bring it down
