Coyote lake
« on: Jun 21, 2015, 09:22:03 PM »
I'm heading out to coyote lake this weekend and want to know of a safe place to leave my tow rig. I have been searching the internet but have had no luck. Any ideas?

From my understanding, there is plenty of parking at the Sand Flats.  Its been a long time since I was in there.  But I remember something about that where Marlin and everybody used to park.

Tamarack ridge parking lot is also a good spot. It's right off of 168 past shaver.

I don't see why not. And you could even go down the road a ways from the lot and find a nice spot off the side. That's the entrance to the camping for swamp and those trails.

We park at the corrals at the entrance all the time. I would not hesitate..

It's common to leave them on the way in to the trailhead. Some right after the pavement, some off and on on the way to the corral, some at the corral, some a little ways after the corral. They don't usually go all the way into Sand Flats, it's a rough road.

Little good that will do you. Each will give a different answer, and none will admit talking to you if anything comes of it.

If you park at the corals make sure you don't block their access because they will give you a ticket

I was going to say there are no parking signs all over the place at the corrals.  I've parked, as well as other member of our group at the tamarack ridge sno-park with no issues.  We ran into swamp from there.  In summer it is hardly ever used unless they need a staging place for a fire.  There is also a bathroom there which can be handy if spending the night. Otherwise just drive in towards coyote till you find a place to pull off and park.  There is a spot a little ways in from the corrals off to the right.
