Hey guys,
Just wanted to share that our forum went down -- site only displayed an error of "Unknown table engine 'InnoDB'" -- due to an automatic update of
munin, which is a network monitoring application of our server. We use it so I can receive email alerts when something goes wrong with the server. I did indeed get alerts about this, I just wasn't checking my mail
According to server logs, the update failed and had to auto-restart itself, and in doing so, it didn't restart our SQL server properly, SQL being the type of database this forum lives in.
So there was no foul play at all, just a lame hiccup from an automatic process, and I was out of town yesterday and didn't find out about this until about an hour ago
So everything is back to normal. There was no hacking attempt or any thing of the sort. All of our files, which are backed up daily, are all exactly the same way they were before that application tried updating itself (occurred at 1am Saturday morning).
