R151F shifter question
« on: May 20, 2002, 07:07:41 AM »
Here I am attaching 2 images, one is of the shifter I received when I got the tranny and the location that the shifter goes into. For some reason something doesn't look right. On the shifter there is a metal plate at the bottom as if it's suppose to bolt to something to hold it in place, but if you look at the tranny it doesn't have anywhere to bolt to. My question is, do I have to correct shifter? Also when I just dry shift it either in 2wd or 4wd the shifters are very close to each other and in some gears they actually feel as though they're going to get in each others way. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't think I have the correct shifter....

Thanks,
Brian "ROGUEDOGG" Ford

That shifter is from a 1985-1988 W56 2WD or 4WD single level transmission (eg. top shift TC).

You got the wrong lever bud. :peg:
