long 3 link rear 95 4runner
« on: Aug 27, 2013, 11:10:46 PM »
Am wanting to move my rear axle frame mounts forward like 2 feet longer. (Lower links)
And use the stock lower axle links mounts on the axle
And the 3rd link mounted to top-center of the rear axle housing. And the front mount of the 3rd link (upper)
4.5"'s shorter than the lower links. Mounted above the rear driveshaft  just b4 the tcase rear output
Am not looking at kits. Or other manufactures stuff. A home brew. Anyone got pics of their 3 link rear susp on 90-95 4runners
95 4 runner. 4 cyl dual ultimate w. R150.  V6 rear w spool.  New Chevy springs on 12" extended frame.      Front.  SAS w chromoly shafts.  And spartan    In frazier park ca 93225

I do not have any pics but I know someone who had once done something similar. If you are going to reuse the factory axle side link brackets, make sure you beef them up a bit. Other wise you will rip them off.

Gotya. Yes. They will be reinforced.
A friend of mine said to reuse the upper drivers side axle mount.  He said it would be real easy to just make an upper mount  by the exhaust.  And.also mentioned to ditch the factory track bar for a beefy straight one with an adjustment to center rear axle @ ride heigth
i wanta go with the upper link mounted on top of center rear axle housing
Running stock fj80 rear coils w a 2.0" spacer. Bout 5" of total rear lift
I wanta change em out for Old Man Emu fj80 rear 2.5" lift coils.  Anyone using those??

Sounds like a plan. I had seen a local 3rd gen 4runner with a beefed up stock link suspension recently. If I see it at the Catina this weekend I'll try and get some pics for you.
