lockright locker help?
« on: Jan 22, 2013, 07:35:39 PM »

I bought a used 4cyl 3rd and all 4 pins in the lockright ended up being broken. I pulled it apart to make sure there wasn't any other damage. The holes in both halves of the locker are ovaled out. If I were to install new springs and pins would it be ok to run it like this or should the sides be replaced also?

Pics of the ovaled holes...

Thanks, John

I know the holes are supposed to be slightly ovaled to begin with but these seem to be a little worse. Just wondering if I were to file the sharp edges down if it would be ok to run it.

Eh, you could be alright or it could break the first time you go offroad.
What do you teeth look like?

They look ok I guess. No major areas of concern that I could find.

Are they sharp, or more rounded off? If they're on the sharp side I'd do what you said and file the holes smooth and run it.

I'll double check tonight when I get home and post some pics.

Here are some pics of the teeth. They do appear to be a little rounded, but not too bad... What do you think?

They don't look that bad, I'd run it. It'll probably pop a lot, but mine does too.
