35 or 33 on a daily driver?
« on: Oct 03, 2012, 11:56:44 AM »
Getting ready to start driving my project.wanted to run 35" tire but will be using truck mostly as a daily driver. Thinking 33"  may be better for my use has anyone got 33"s and regretted later? Been running 31 on my four runner and never had any problems.

I'm running 35s on a daily driver, I wouldn't run anything smaller but it just depends on what you're wheeling.

If you want to run 35s I would go ahead and run them.  We put 10K miles on my 4runner with 35s this summer and they are just fine onthe highway. One thing to consider if you are running 15" wheels though is that you have a few less tire options for 35s than for 33s. BFG all terrains seem to be on the way out in the 35x12.50r15 size. You allready need to re-gear for 33s so you might as well re-gear with 35s and up in mind if you ever plan to go that big.

What's your rear end ratio?

What size rim do you currently have?

If you currentlly have 15x7, you can get 33x10.50 and use the current rims.

I've run both 33's and 35's on my trucks, with 33's I have run stock gears but with 35's I've run 4.3, 4.88 and 5.29 axle gears since the tires are a little bit too big for 4.10 gears. Never had any trouble with any of those combinations.

It is the tire not the size bfg at ;;give nice ride and last. Super swamper will have poor ride and wear fast. If it were me and if i did not use much for off road a 33 it would be 33 will work fine i have run the con on 33 several times. Figure out your purpose for your rig and be realistic.
it's not me, it's you
