My Akita disappeared almost 7 years ago after having her for 9 years.   :sad2:  Even though it's nearly impossible for her to live this long I still find myself occasionally looking at the local rescue websites to see if I see her.   I still have her food bowls and brush that I don't use on my current dog.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE
AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

The horse on the left...though he wasn't mine, was my horses best friend and I took care of him on occasion. He was the sweetest guy ever and would put up with anything we did to him. He started to get bad arthritis so they decided to put him down before he got more pain.

This was my American Staffordshire Terrier, Jada. She died at age four and a half from a type of somewhat rare disease called malignant histiocytosis back in 2010. I miss her dearly, she was the best friend a guy could ever ask for. I still have a box with her ashes above my desk with her favorite two toys next to it. I plan to have all my dogs from her on out be burried with me. She loved to go camping and four wheeling and would come running every time I fired up my 4runner. The cat in the second picture was my cat Smokey. I found him abandoned by his family/mother, maybe only a few months old and very malnourished. He had been taking refuge under my boat and it took several months for me to win his trust. Once I did, he turned out to be the coolest cat I ever had. He had quite the identity crisis, and wasn't sure if he was a human or a dog. He used to wrestle with Jada and would follow us for miles on walks. Sadly about a year before Jada died, he was killed and eaten by a mountain lion. These two were best friends.

This is our dog Dominick, he passed away yesterday after a car hit him. He was a very loving and playful dog who was always happy to see you.  I thank God for two short years he gave us, I am sorry I was not there to protect you buddy. Rest in peace.

Here he is sleeping in his wagon.

On top of my dads Mustang.

A poem I found

A Dog for Jesus

I wish someone had given Jesus a dog.
As loyal and loving as mine.
To sleep by His manger and gaze in His eyes
And adore Him for being divine.

As our Lord grew to manhood His faithful dog,
Would have followed Him all through the day.
While He preached to the crowds and made the sick well
And knelt in the garden to pray.
It is sad to remember that Christ went away.
To face death alone and apart.
With no tender dog following close behind,
To comfort its Master's Heart.
And when Jesus rose on that Easter morn,
How happy He would have been,
As His dog kissed His hand and barked it's delight,
For The One who died for all men.

Well, the Lord has a dog now, I just sent Him mine,
The old pal so dear to me.
And I smile through my tears on this first day alone,
Knowing they're in eternity.
Day after day, the whole day through,
Wherever my road inclined,
Four feet said, "Wait, I'm coming with you!"
And trotted along behind.

Thanks 46&2  I am going to try and find the picture of him on the roof. He seemed to like heights. I still don’t know how I’m going to break the news to my younger sister?

my buddy Rusty.
we had to put him down about a month ago, he had started laying around a bunch and not interested in anything, so my wife took him to the vet and they found he had some sort of large cancer on his spleen. he was in pain and it could have burst at anytime causing him more pain, so we decided to do the right thing and let him go painless.

I also taught him how to put in 5min of hard work and then spend 15min staring and admiring what you have done...
