2RZ bogs, then rips
« on: Jun 04, 2012, 04:04:03 PM »
Any ideas, when I first take off it runs fine then when I get on it big time, it bogs then takes right off slowly and runs sweet. Happens when I sit and idle for a while then want to get on it. This happens on the trail and street the little I've driven the street. It's like it needs to clean out before it takes off.
1996 Tacoma motor, in my 1982, used all of the Taco wiring harness, nothing was cut out and everything was installed and connected front to back, including the Taco tank and fuel lines etc..
Actually runs very well except for this issue.
Any ideas????

Don't have a code reader, the check engine light goes right out. Was planning on getting a code reader this week although. It will stay revved and never miss after the bog goes away, until I stop and idle a while. It seems if I rev it a couple time before I take off it's not as likely to bog.

I used to own a 2rz powered truck. Check resistance of MAF per fsm specs, possibly defective or dirty too.
